Did you ever wonder how writing first began? What might have possessed the first people to try and record their thoughts in some way, rather than just using verbal communication?

Well, anyone who has ever had a sore tooth or a tooth extracted may know the real truth behind those first early attempts of people to try to communicate in some other way than flapping their gums.

Or perhaps it came about more from a need to be, as Elmer Fudd would say "Vwery quiet!" Being quiet is absolutely essential when you are trying to feed yourself and your family - that's for sure.
